We saw a whole host of aircraft participating in the Artic Research of the Composition of the Troposphere from Aircraft and Satellites (ARCTAS) airborne sampling program, although we only saw the NASA DC-8 fly.
Data was being gathered to study the atmosphere in the Arctic and high northern latitudes to understand how that area is affected by long-range pollution from lower latitudes and also local boreal wildfires.
