Roger Brooks runs, as the name suggests, a fuel hauling operation out of Fairbanks and the fleet is based around the Douglas C-54/DC-4. Set-up in 1986 the name belies the fact that they also carry freight on contract to Bettles Lodge, which is only 35 miles north of the Arctic Circle and is very popular with Japanese tourists.
We saw one aircraft fly while visiting (N96358) while a further two were being worked on and looked close to, if not airworthy. (N51802 and N3054V)
As with Everts, the yard is dotted with donor aircraft, either as spares sources or future projects and includes a DC-7C (N90251) which is very rare these days and a C-47A (N95460) still showing Air North titles.
At Anchorage C-119 N9027K has been stored for a number of years, and you can find various DC-4s belonging to Roger in Arizona if you know where to look, biding their time before being ferried to the harsher environment of Alaska.
We never got to meet Roger (bad for us) as he was out flying (good for him).
