The 1st time I was in Grand Junction about 4 years ago, I remember seeing an Invader sitting in an industrial area, so this time I decided to try to find it again. There was no clue as to where it was located on the internet, and it was last noted in 2002.
So I drove up and down the long roads in Grand Junction trying to follow how I got lost the 1st time I visited. I was on my last try when it suddenly appeared on my left.
It is an A26 Invader N8394H / 44-35955 - reported as involved in a mid-air on 3rd July 1968 - the FAA has this aircraft as a model TB26B.
There are 2 aircraft mounted on pylons at the entrance to Walker Field as follows.
F11F Tiger pained in Blue Angels colours.
A6 Intruder Bu154131
22 November 2006 - update:
On my way to Nellis from Denver I spotted a UH1 on a pole in Fruita. I made a mental note to stop on the way home to check this out.
UH1 6816307 is mounted on a pole in the Western Slope Vietnam War Memorial Park which is located in the rest area just off exit 19 of the I70
