Believe it or not this was my very first air show that I've attended in the USA. This was mainly a trip to try out my new Canon 100-400 lens, before heading out to Oceana, VA next month.
I arrived just before the gates opened and as the static display was so small, it only took around 20 minutes to do.
I passed a stall where they were selling AT11 (C45) flights for only $40, so I decided that as I probably wouldn't get another opportunity to fly on one of these old aircraft, I should jump at this chance.
The aircraft only took 5 passengers and the flight lasted a surprisingly long 25 minutes.
The only military hardware that flew was one of the pair of the West Coast A10 demo team and the beautifully painted F16 from Buckley, CO ANG in a special Minute Men celebration scheme.
The Minute Men were a display team that was officially recognized in 1956 as the first and only to date ANG display team. They have flown both F80 and F86 aircraft, and the F16 seen in the photos was painted in this scheme from sketch by Staff Sgnt. Paul Allen.
The paint scheme will disappear by Jan 2007 when this F16 goes into its next scheduled maintenance.
