Las Cruces Intl Airport, NM (KLRU) - 3 November 2007

I made the trip to Las Cruces to check out a couple of A-26s and a PV-2.

A-26B N26WB (ex 44-34713) – stored in good condition.
A-26B N550 (ex 44-34555) – stored in a dismantled state.
PV-2 N2PV (ex Bu37254)

As I drove up the the airport there were 3 Navy T-34s in the circuit. I parked near the approach end to snag some photos. After they landed I decided to check out where they were parked and to my surprise found around 20 more!

There was an open gate where a couple of chairs were placed – basically a smoking spot. I walked up and asked if anyone minded if I shot the aircraft through the gate and was given the go ahead.

Talking to the ground crew, I found out that the aircraft had been flown up from NAS Corpus Christi as there was due to be bad weather down at the base, and flying here they could continue training.

Although this airport is called International, it's very small and really more like a MAP.
