Clean Shaven Fanzine"...Very very special. For once, NME got it spot on: it's as much in what Fourth Quartet don't play, as in what they do, which makes them so good. Sparse, almost desolate and bleak, lead track 'Less Of Me' is my favourite, tense and poised, taking a while to finally arrive at the vocals, which are the only part that becomes much louder. They take their time, but they come up with a gem. It is slow, quiet, cautious, with an underlying menace, sadness, or some other emotion that lurks and is felt in the music. The B-side is perhaps more, um, "accessible" gentler vocals and tune, though the instrumentation is as precise and perfect, adding at the exact moment. And from the lyrics, it sounds like they're arsing about with the water pipes down North Street again. Think Low, Slint, and lots more. Slow-core? Maybe. Just something you really need to have a taste of." Pete Flynn
