We had an afternoon to burn in Tomsk so we decided to explore the sights we could see by foot.

Tomsk is one of the oldest cities in Siberia and it was interesting to see the different types of buildings - from old wooden houses to factory worker type skyscraper homes through to the more modern structures.

We walked for miles and did actually get lost at one point but after some interesting discussions on the streets with some locals, did eventually find our way back to base - even if we really didn't know where we started off from!
